Business Development Office
The Research Directorate's BDO supports the Laboratory Leadership's priorities and execution management activities. In addition the office administers ISR's Office of Research Technology Applications (ORTA)/technology transfer and Small Business Innovative Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs. The BDO serves as the liaison between the USAISR and MRDC's technology transfer office.
Vivarium Support Group
The Veterinary Support Group is comprised of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, husbandry technicians, administrative personnel and a facility manager, focused on providing care and technical expertise aligned with the research goals of investigators and staff to optimize combat casualty care. The team supports combat casualty care research studies within a 50,000 square foot vivarium while facilitating the development of future protocols within USAISR, as well as with external collaborators.
Pathology, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Group
The Pathology, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Group is comprised of veterinary pathologists, molecular biologists, a quality assurance expert, three epidemiologists/biostatisticians, and laboratory and histopathology technicians, focused on facilitating combat casualty care-relevant clinical research. The team supports all institute clinical, and laboratory research protocols in the realm of veterinary pathology (anatomic, clinical, and molecular) and microbiology, as well as epidemiology and biostatistics.
Clinical Research Support Group
The Clinical Research Support Group is comprised of research nurses, research physicians, quality assurance experts, an epidemiologist, and a program manager, focused on facilitating combat casualty care-relevant clinical research in the USAISR Burn Center and Brooke Army Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center. The CRSG team supports active prospective, retrospective, and tissue repository studies while facilitating the development of additional protocols for future execution.
